Arena Fonte Nova is a professional football stadium in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. The original arena opened on January 28, 1951, and hosted several derbies between Bahia and Vitoria Sporting Clubs. Arena Fonte Nova Size and Structure

After Brazil won the right to host the 2014 World Cup, a German company proposed demolishing the abandoned old stadium and rebuilding a new one on the original site. The current Arena Fonte Nova is modeled after its predecessor, covered with a light membrane roof. It is one of the most luxurious stadiums in this World Cup, with a panoramic restaurant, football museum, parking lot, shops, hotel, and concert hall in the stadium. The most special thing about the construction of the new water source stadium is that the entire U-shaped south stand is a temporary building made of steel frames, which will be dismantled after the World Cup.

Its architectural idea is to continue the design of the old stadium completely. The south of the stadium is the famous local Dique de Tororo lake, which is also the origin of the name Fonte Nova (new water source). The southerly wind passing over the lake can cool the arena. The stadium's stands were divided into three tiers, and the open end was considered a good location for a concert stage on non-sporting occasions.

There is a temporary stand to meet the capacity requirements of the 2014 World Cup. The temporary stand on the south side has about 10,000 seats. The Arena Fonte Nova has a capacity of 51,708, including 2,100 VIP seats. The stands are blue, thanks to the color of these seats rather than the paintwork on the concrete.
