In February 2017, Mordovian Arena began its first mowing operation. On April 21, 2018, the stadium ushered in its first official game. The Mordovian Arena's exterior will make it one of the most colorful stadiums at the 2018 World Cup, with orange, red, and white tiles adorning the entire stadium's façade, a design element inspired by Mordovian traditions handicraft.

Mordovia Arena Capacity

After the 2018 World Cup, the Mordovia Arena will become the home of the local third-tier league team Saransk Mordovia. The remaining space of the Mordovia Arena will be used to host other sports, including indoor volleyball, basketball, and tennis.
