Savannah Cat Size report
The Savannah cat is a unique large pet cat breed, with long legs, big ears, and leopard print on its body, making its overall temperament full of wild charm. The Savannah cat crosses between the Leptailurus serval and Felis catus, an artificially newer cat breed.
Under natural conditions, a Leptailurus serval and Felis catus can't crossbreed. Leptailurus serval lives on the African Savannah and looks very different from the Felis catus. The torso and limbs are slender, like a miniature cheetah. The breeding process of the Savannah cat is challenging, which has caused the price of the Savannah cat to remain high.

Since 2006 they have held the Guinness Book World Record for the world's tallest domestic cat.

Generations are important to breeders. Out-crossing to different breeds is not permissible. Later generations are further removed from their wild ancestor. Purebred Savannah Cats have three or more consecutive generations of Savannah to Savannah heritage. Purebred Savannahs have the most advanced breed status and can be shown at TICA cat shows. They will have SBT classification on their TICA registration, also referred to as SBT Savannahs.

If you are thinking about raising a Savannah cat, remember that they are listed as F1, F2, F3, etc. These numbers represent how many generations have passed since the original Serval genes were introduced into a particular breeding line. The smaller the number, the more likely you'll see a bit more wild behavior. They actively seek social interaction and may be given to talking with various distinctive vocalizations if left out. Socializing your Savannah kitten is important since these big cats can become suspicious of strangers.
