Mount Bromo Height report
Mount Bromo is an active Somma volcano, part of the Tengger mountains, located in the east of Java Island and is administered administratively by East Java Province, Indonesia. It is not the highest peak of the massif, but the most famous. One of the biggest reasons people travel to Mount Bromo from all over the world is its spectacular sunrises. From a vantage point near Mount Penanjakan, with the sun centered on the imposing Mount Bromo, the surrounding mountains create an almost surreal atmosphere.
Mount Bromo is included in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, one of East Java's most visited tourist destinations. Tengger Mountain formed about 800,000 years ago, and the crater's diameter is now 10 kilometers wide. Later, this large volcano erupted again, and Mount Bromo, Mt Batok, and Mount Semeru were successively born on the vast basin.
Mount Bromo is located in the middle of a plain called "Sea of Sand," a nature reserve that has been protected since 1919. The most recent eruption of Mount Bromo, which occurred in 2016, produced ash as high as 1,500-1,800 meters. This post will introduce more interesting facts about Mount Bromo.
Mount Bromo Height And Description
Mount Bromo is part of the Bromo-Tengger Semeru National Park, which covers about 777 square kilometers (300 square miles), including five active volcanoes, plus the plain "Sea of Sand." Day travelers can hike in the national park or book a guided 4WD tour to see its landscape. The huge Tengger crater has a diameter of 10 kilometers, and the steep mountain stands straight on the vast lava sand plain.
Mount Bromo is one of the most famous stargazing places in Indonesia. Many astronomers observe the sky here, and astrophotographers also take photos of the Milky Way, the Andromeda Galaxy, and the Magellanic Clouds. Mount Bromo and the surrounding area are all located south of the equator, less than 10 degrees from the equator, so it is also a good place to watch the southern hemisphere night sky and meteor showers (such as the South Taurid meteor shower).

Final Words
Mount Bromo, an active volcano in the Tengger crater, has an awe-inspiring lunar surface and is one of Indonesia's most spectacular landscapes. Protruding from the crater is the smoky Mount Bromo at an altitude of 2,329 meters, which is also the soul of the entire plateau. This uninhabited area feels like the end of the world, especially at sunrise. Depending on the level of volcanic activity, the Indonesian Center for Volcanology and Disaster Mitigation sometimes warns to avoid visiting Mount Bromo.
