K2 Height report
"Chogori," generally considered Tajik, means "tall and majestic." Chogori is the main peak of the Karakoram Mountains, also known as K2, "K" refers to the Karakoram Mountains, and "2" means that it was the second peak of the Karakoram Mountains to be investigated at that time.
There are six main ridges in K2 Mount. The northwest-southeast ridge is the main ridge line of the Karakun Mountains and is also the border of China and Pakistan. K2 is recognized by the international mountaineering community as the most difficult mountain to climb above 8,000 meters.
On July 31, 1954, Italian explorers Rino Resdri and Aqili Copagnoni reached the summit. On January 16, 2021, a joint team of 10 Nepalese climbers successfully climbed Mount K2, the second-highest peak in the world, setting a record for the first time humans climbed the mountain in winter.
K2 Height And Description
K2 is located at 35°52′55″N and 76°30′51″E, in Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County, Kashgar Prefecture. The international mountaineering community generally refers to this Mount as K2. Tajiks are treasure guardians on K2. The peak of K2 is pyramid-shaped, and the top of the mountain is an ice slope that rises slightly from north to south, with a large area. The north side is extremely steep, with an average of more than 45 degrees slope. From the base camp on the north side to the summit, the vertical height difference reaches 4700 meters. On both sides of K2 is the 44-kilometer-long Yinsugaiti Glacier. Many extremely high mountains are above 7,000 meters and below 8,000 meters around K2. Therefore, it has become the second mountaineering center to which the world's mountaineers pay attention.
Measurements of K2
K2 is 8,611 meters above sea level and is the second-highest peak in the world, second only to Mount Everest. Connecting Mount Everest to K2, it can be measured that the terrain prominence of Mount K2 is 4,017 meters. From the perspective of topographical prominence, K2 is the peak with the largest topographical prominence in the Karakoram Mountains.

Climate
The K2 area is dangerous terrain and has a very harsh climate. From May to September every year, the southwest monsoon brings warm and humid air, which is the rainy season in this area. The strong westerly wind brings severe winter from mid-September to mid-April of the following year. The lowest temperature at the top of the peak can reach -50 degrees, and the maximum wind speed can reach more than 25 m/s, a forbidden climate for mountaineering.
From May to September, due to rising temperatures and snowmelt and falling, the water level in the valley often rises sharply, making it difficult to enter the mountain. Therefore, the best time for mountaineering is from May to early June. From July to September, the temperature on the top of the mountain is slightly higher, and the good weather lasts longer, which is an excellent time to climb to the top of K2.

According to the unwritten practice in the international mountaineering industry, if there is only one chair in the room, then all the people who have climbed Mount Everest will give up their seats to those who have climbed K2. Compared with the hustle and bustle of Mount Everest, K2 seems to need to be more low-key. With a ruthless attitude, it has tested generations of top climbers and rejected all too-easy visits. To see it, you must first have at least two weeks. One of the biggest causes of death in mountaineering is altitude sickness, so highly effective anti-altitude drugs should be carried.
