Headboard Sizes report
The headboard of the bed is an easily overlooked part of the interior design. In many cases, we paint the wall or hang a photo. However, the attractive headboard design can make your bedroom different. Some people will call the headboard a piece of hidden furniture because most people ignore the creation of the headboard when we buy furniture.
You may have never thought about headboard sizes since headboards often come as part of a prefabbed bed frame. However, if you choose your headboard or construct a custom bed frame, you need to think about it a lot.
Usually, headboards are around the same width as your bed frame, typically 2 to 5 inches larger than your mattress, but they can get a lot wider than that. The headboard measurement can be based on many factors, including the room size, the decoration scheme, the bed style, and bedding, and the size of the bed. We will talk about the range of headboard sizes and how to choose the right size in the following article.
Headboard Size Guide
Although there are some basic guidelines for choosing a headboard size, these may be your starting points. You can choose it to be taller, wider, or customize the headboard according to whatever you want. Remember, if the headboard is installed on the bed frame, the mounting holes of the two parts must be aligned. Headboards come in several designs and sizes. You must choose the right size to match your mattress and your room.

Extra-Wide Headboards
Extra-wide headboards are twice as wide as your bed frame, ranging from 40 to 120 inches. These headboards are usually mounted to a wall instead of attached to your bed. If you need a headboard for wall protection, an extra-wide one may be a good choice. If you purchase an extra-wide headboard, you should place them in a large room at least 10 feet by 10 feet to keep your space from feeling crowded.
Headboard Widths
The width of the headboard should be compatible with your mattress size. The table above lists the standard mattress sizes and the headboard dimensions suitable for each of them. You can buy a headboard that is slightly wider than the mattress. Leaving a space of two inches on each side will make your bed look better.
Headboard Heights
The headboard height is measured from the level of your mattress but not from the ground. Your room will be nicer and brighter when the headboard height is less than the length of your bed. The overall height of the headboard also depends on the size of the bed. The longer and wider the bed, the higher the headboard.
- Low headboards are short in height, ranging from 10 to 12 inches above your bed. They are best for kids' beds or full beds.
- The tall headboard can be as high as 56 inches. It goes well with a king or Californian king bed and looks best in a room with high ceilings.
Adjustable Headboards
An adjustable headboard is an excellent option if you are unsure about headboard dimensions. They come with metallic legs that you can pull up or down to adjust the height of the headboard. Having an adjustable headboard will save you precious money.
