Hagia Sophia (Turkish: Ayasofya) is a religious building in Istanbul, Turkey, officially the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque. The central dome is 32.6 meters in diameter, and the dome is 55 meters above the ground. It is supported on four large pillars through sail arches. There are 40 window holes densely arranged at the bottom of the dome to introduce light.
