  • S Grade: It is generally 7200 yards long with a par 72 rating. S grade golf course is an excellent course designed for professional play, which has rolling terrain, well landscaped with wide tree-lined fairways, and large, excellent quality greens and tees.
  • A Grade: It is generally 6900 yards long with a par 72 rating. A grade golf course is designed for championship play, and the golf course has rolling terrain, well landscaped with wide fairways, and very good quality greens and tees.
  • B Grade: It is generally 6500 yards long with a par 70 rating. B grade golf course is excellent for private club membership, and it also has well landscaped with wide fairways and very good quality greens and tees.
  • C Grade: It is generally 6000 yards long with a par 67-70 rating. The average course designed for municipal or general public play, a C grade golf course, has flat terrain, landscaped fairways, average size, and quality greens and tees.
  • D Grade: These developed courses are generally 5400 yards long with a par 64 to 67 rating. They have flat terrain, very little landscaping, small greens, few natural hazards.

This measurement includes the area for the clubhouse, driving range, and practice greens. Smaller golf courses will instead be around 70 acres (28.3 hectares).
