Canton Tower, also known as Guangzhou New TV Tower, is located in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China, 125 meters from the south bank of the Pearl River. It is the tallest Tower in China and also a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.
Canton Tower has become one of the most famous landmarks in Guangzhou City. The Tower has a total floor area of 114,054 square meters. It can withstand earthquakes of magnitude eight and typhoons of magnitude 12 and has a designed service life of more than 100 years.
It was completed in September 2009 and officially opened to the public on September 30, 2010. Canton Tower has five functional areas and a variety of amusement facilities, including an outdoor viewing platform, Ferris wheel, sky-speed amusement project, two sightseeing halls, suspended corridors, sky ladders, 4D and 3D dynamic cinemas, Chinese and Western cuisines, and exhibition facilities, shopping malls, and science exhibition halls.
Description of the Canton Tower Size
As the origin and starting point of the Maritime Silk Road, the English name Guangzhou known to the world has always been "Canton." The final plan for the design of the Canton Tower is an oval gradient grid structure. The Canton Tower is noted for its unique design, inspired by the bones of the female hip joint, and then the designer created a slim waist in the middle of the tower. The tower body of Canton Tower changes in size from bottom to top: the diameter of the bottom ellipse is about 60 meters x 80 meters, and the aspect ratio is 7.5; the diameter of the thinnest ellipse in the middle is about 30 meters, and the aspect ratio is 7.3; the diameter of the upper ellipse is about 40.5 meters x 54 meters.
The original design height of the Canton Tower was 610 meters, with the main tower about 450 meters high and a 160 meters antenna. In the actual construction bidding, the designer made changes. Since the Canton Tower is located in the aircraft turning area, to ensure flight safety, the tower's height was reduced to 600 meters according to the requirements of the civil aviation administration, mainly by reducing the antenna by about 10 meters.

The body of Canton Tower is 454 meters high, and the antenna on the top is 146 meters high, so its total height is 600 meters. The following are the top world records of the tower.
- The longest and highest sky walking ladder: The Spider-Man plank road is located between 168 meters and 334.4 meters, and the 1088 steps are about 1000 meters long, making it the longest sky walking ladder in the world;
- The highest revolving restaurant: the 424 meters high restaurant can accommodate 400 people.
- The highest open-air viewing platform: 450 meters high, with an area of 54 meters × 40 meters;
- The highest horizontal Ferris wheel in the world at 450-454 meters at the top of the tower.
- At 455~485 meters from the antenna, there is a "speedy sky" downhill amusement project, the world's highest vertical downhill amusement project.

As the highest TV tower in China and the third highest in the world, the tower has been a must-see scenic spot in Haizhu District, Guangzhou.
