Birkenstock Shoes Fitting Guide
- Measure your foot length: Stand with the heel to a wall and put a measuring tape under your feet. Read off the measured foot length in millimeters before your longest toe. Choose the next higher if you are between two sizes because feet are minimally greater under load.
- Birkenstock products are offered in European sizes. You could reference the size conversion charts above. You can determine your Birkenstock size by adding 31 to your U.S. women’s size and 33 to your U.S. men’s size.
- Your feet should be able to move freely without your toes hitting the edge of the footbed.
How To Adjust Your Birkenstock shoes

- Open all the straps and step into the footbed. Tighten the straps comfortably, leaving enough space for your feet to move freely.
- Adjust the straps again to the tightness you think is comfortable after the first five or six times of wearing your new shoes.
